Alright, so if anyone out there is as organized as I am and hates when you have no idea what file (recolors, etc) goes with what Mesh and such, I've done something a little different with my file names now.

For clothing, acessories and hair files that require a mesh to work, I've named the mesh in the file name.  For example: "subKitten_TheUnfortunateHair01(Peggy-juicedonhair0021mesh)" is a file name for a recolor I did.  In parenthesis I've put what mesh is necessary for my recolor to show up in your game.  That way if it gets serperated (even though I zip the mesh with the recolors) you'll know what mesh you want to delete, keep, etc.  For those of you who constantly clean up your downloads, this will come in handy for at least my stuff. When you delete a mesh in your folder, some recolors may still be hanging around and taking up space.  So for at least my stuff, you'll know what recolors of mine go with that mesh you just deleted.

If there is no mesh required, "nomesh" will be in parenthesis.  Makeup, skintone and eyes never need a mesh, so there's nothing new in the file names.  It took me some time, but I've renamed all the filenames that needed a mesh and no when you download, you'll see the new filenames.

Those who don't care and never keep an eye on their downloads, this doesn't affect you at all.  Download as normal and enjoy!

If this site is called subKitten, why do your file names /in-game tooltips/swatches all say "ws_" or "WykydSyn"????

Glad you asked!  When I first began making custom content, I uploaded to MTS2 under the screen name WykydSyn.  I have come to really dislike that screen name, but since all my files are already "ws_eye200" and so on, I got into the habit of naming my files that way.  All of my older files (such as SecretMuse Eyes, or ButterflyKisses shadow, don't have WykydSyn in the swatch name, but they do have "ws_" in it.  I thought about going through and renaming everything before getting this site up and running, but I just don't have the time and it's a lot more work than I'd anticipated.  Any of my future updates will start representing subKitten.  I did rename the .zip files "subKitten_", but some of the older file names within are all "ws_somethingorrather".  I apologize if this confuses anyone who may be trying to clean up their downloads folder.  So if anything has "ws" or "WykydSyn" on it, it's mine.

How do I download your files?

Simply click the skull image  to begin the download.

How do I install your content in my game after I've downloaded it?

After you've downloaded, got to wherever you've saved the .zip file and double-click it to open either WinZip or WinRar (you'll need one of these (they're free) to unzip my files).  Once Winzip opens, Click "next" (in WinZip Wizard mode), next again (to unzip  or install file), then "select different folder" and pick the destination you wish the contents of the .zip to unzip.  You can choose "C:\Documents and Settings\"yourdesktopname"\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads, or you can unzip it in another location before putting it into your Downloads folder.  If you downloaded a full Sim, after you've unzipped it into your Downloads folder, you must go there and find the file name of the Sim.  The icon will look like a little blue weeble-wobble popping out of a box.  This is a .package file and must be manually installed.  To do this, simply double-click the file and an EA box will pop up asking if you wish to Install the content.  Click "Install" and it will install it for you.  Also, some of my .zip/rar files may have .zip/rar files inside of them, so make sure you check your downloads folder for any .zip files that might need unzipping.

I downloaded one of your files and it's not showing up in my game!

Please make sure that you downloaded a Mesh necessary for the recolor to show up in your game.  I always list a link to the Mesh beneath the Download file for a particular file.  Also, make sure you have the Expansion pack necessary to view the content, such as clothing.  If the download still does not show up in your game there may be another download from another source conflicting with mine, or it may be a bad .zip.  In that case, please email me and let me know so I can fix it.

Do you take requests?

I sure as heck do!  If you have a hair/makeup/clothing request, don't hesitate to email me and ask.  I've only begun creating meshes, so keep that in mind.  I'll try my best to create whatever is requested of me.

I knew you as WykydSyn over at MTS2.  Why aren't a lot of those downloads on this site?

Well, MTS2 is where I started, so a lot of my older stuff is...well...horrific!  I keep all of my old content there because it does seem to get downloaded a lot every day, but it's not content that I want here on my Sims 2 site.  Feel free to download all of my old stuff from MTS2.  I will be updating some of my old makeup soon.

                                                                        POLICY

My policy is very simple :
1) Recolor anything of mine that you like
2) Redistribute anything of mine you like/however you like
3) do whatever you want to/with my files
4) don't "steal" my work
All I ask.....credit me .
My Meshes :
1) You may edit my meshes (after all they're Maxis meshes to begin with) and if you do, I'd love to see what you've done!
2) You may edit the alphas (afterall they're Maxis alphas to begin with)
3) You may redistribute/share my meshes however you like
.....just credit me
When crediting me: no link to my site is necessary, but it's always nice to see.  Also, a screen shot of sims2pack clean installer's custom content is fine (just like I do with my models) or a "by subKitten" will work too!
As for the files on my site :
As of 9.11.07

I've decided to begin including all meshes necessary for clothing and models (same with any custom content on a model).  I do this because:
1) downloaders don't need to go to 10 sites to download necessary content for a model, or meshes
2) most sites include their hair/clothing mesh with their recolor(s) and a downloader shouldn't have to download a file with 6 recolors of something just to get the mesh
3) sites move, sites shut down and the meshes disappear
4) for pay/donation items I was directing downloaders to the booty, but it's download rate has become extremely slow and that can turn off visitors and it's rather frustrating (even though the booty is freaking amazing!)
5) this is a freakin game and custom content should be shared with everyone and itt shouldn't be a blasted treasure hunt just to see a sim or outfit in your game: takes the fun out of it if you ask me

I've passed up many a sims and lots because the "custom content not included but necessary" list was a mile long, especially on lots.

So..this may tick some people off and I'm prepared to take the heat.  But it makes it easier for the visitors to my site if everything they need is in just one click of the mouse.  I've updated all my AF casual outfit zips to include the
necessary meshes, and my models have been updated to include everything (including meshes).
